Rick Modesitt is a native and lifelong resident of Parkersburg, WV. A Parkersburg Police Officer from 1975-1997, and Chief of Police from 1994-1997, Rick is also president of Rick Modesitt and Associates, Inc. and a licensed realtor with Metro Realty.

Rick was elected to the WV House of Delegates, serving in the 74th and 75th Legislatures. Appoointed to the Wood County Commission December 2000, he was elected to full an unexpired term in November 2002.

Active in the community, Rick is a former member of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross, The ARC Wood County Chapter, SW Resources, and currently a member of the Wood County Farm Bureau, Fraternal Order of Police and the Chamber of Commerce.

He is also a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Eagles 2307, Wood County Historical Society, Wood County Commission on Crime, and Parkersburg Homecoming. While with the Parkersburg Police, Rick was a recipient of the Charles L Plum Memorial Award/Officer of the Year Award.
